Vessel Head

Created for the exhibition, Urban Art Meets Global Art at Bloomfield College in New Jersey, Vessel Head was on view from November 2015 through December 2016 in the Quad section of the school’s 11 acre campus. Holiber was inspired by the ancient Medusa sculptures from Turkey’s Basilica Cistern when creating this piece, which offered viewers a playful inquiry into from vs. function. Although large enough to enter and capable of holding several people at a time, this hollow structure’s interior was not easily accessible for onlookers.
